Our vision is a company that creates the most comfortable and effortless loungewear. Our practices contribute to the regeneration of natural systems and remove barriers that prevent people from fully participating in a socially just world.


Mission
At hernest we understand the challenge of finding sleepwear and loungewear that is uncompromising on comfort and style. We also know the apparel industry is a big contributor to our environmental crisis and social injustice. We want to do things differently and influence change in our industry by changing the world through our business practices

We design and build the best product. We create loungewear that is beautiful, feels good, and makes life simple for our customers.

We cause zero harm. This means that we do not contribute to the systemic increase in substances extracted from the earth’s crust, to the accumulation of compounds that do not break down in nature, to degradation of natural systems and to the barriers that prevent people from meeting their needs.

We start with circularity from the beginning and we incorporate new practices and technology that help us work towards a closed loop approach.

2017
set sustainable foundation
Hernest founder Cassandra Osborn sets the foundation for a sleep and loungewear brand rooted in sustainability focused on ethical and transparent manufacturing, using considered fibers and an innovative approach to modern sleepwear.
2018
launched our first collection
On November 28, 2018 we launched our first collection online with 5 styles.
2019
started measuring our impact
In 2019 we started measuring the impact of our fiber and manufacturing choices in partnershIp with GREEN STORY.

2020
carbon neutral from seed to shelf
hernest project deepens its commitment to sustainability by investing in offset projects to reduce the impact of unavoidable emissions. Furthermore, a sustainable roadmap to 2030 is created with the goal of being carbon positive by 2030.

Carbon Neutral
We already use eco-friendly fabrics and employ sustainable manufacturing practices to significantly reduce our CO2 emissions. But it’ll take some time to reduce our emissions all the way to net-zero, there are still emissions that are unavoidable. This is where carbon offsets come in.
We buy carbon offset credits from these projects that are equal to our unavoidable emissions. This provides crucial funding for these projects to continue to thrive while making all our products carbon neutral from ‘seed to shelf’.
