Our Materials

sustainable fibers + dyes—beautiful, down to the strand.

Fiber Selection

The type of fibers used has a significant impact on the environment, how fabrics perform, and how to dispose of them. We created a list of fibers we use with data and information from various sources like Textile Exchange's Preferred Fiber Market Report, from other reputable online forums, from publications such as Why Materials Matter by Seetal Solanki, and by talking to and visiting several textile mills.

All our fabrics are certified Oeko-Tex Standard 100, so you can be sure they are free from harmful dyes and chemicals. Learn more about the standard 100 by Oeko-Tex by clicking the logo.

Certified Organic Cotton

made for living

Since 2022 our cotton is GOTS Certified Organic Cotton which disallows the use of genetically modified seed and restricts or disallows the use of many synthetic agricultural chemicals.
Organic farming aims to self-stabilize agro-ecosystems and uses crop rotation and biological means to control pests and pathogens. Studies show that organic farming builds organic matter in the soil; reduces soil, air, and water contamination; increases soil fertility and biodiversity; reduces human and wildlife health hazards; reduces the greenhouse gas emissions resulting from the production of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides.

Our organic cotton is sourced from Tanzania

Recycled Spandex

with movement in mind

We use 2% or less recycled elastane in our fabrics. Elastane is a synthetic manufactured fiber that is a long-chain synthetic polymer. When used as the central filament core yarn with staple fibers such as cotton or lyocell, elastane becomes the silent hero in the consumer use stage, as it can prolong the use of a product by helping it to retain its shape. The manufacturing process of elastane is energy-intensive and highly chemical, and the building blocks are derived from petroleum. Not exactly sustainable. This is why we use it very sparingly and use recycled elastane.

Our recycled elastane is sourced from Germany

Certified Recycled Fibers

conscientious

In 2023 we introduced GRS Certified RECYCLED FABRICS into our collection. We are using PRE-consumer Recycled Cotton, Recycled Lyocell, Recycled Linen and Recycled Mixed Fibers (we say mixed because the exact composition was not determined) into a fabric named RESET. The final new fabric is backed by cutting-edge technology from our fabric supplier (and dye-house), Tintex. The yarn itself is produced by Tearfil. RESET, promotes and values the circular approach, making it a perfect choice for sustainable sleepwear and everyday comfort.
