hernest stands with the people of Ukraine.
As a business we strongly uphold respect for democracy, the rule of law and for human rights. We support the notion for peace and freedom and the right to sovereignty. We extend our solidarity to all Ukrainians with hope for an end to this crisis. This conflict is a reminder that millions of people globally continue to live under oppression and political violence.
Hernest is dedicated to our broader business model of contributing to the global transition to a low carbon economy and to net zero emissions through our sustainability commitments and roadmap. The world is greatly dependent on Russian oil and gas to power its economy. You cannot fight Russia if it powers your economy. The country is on shaky economic footing and depends almost entirely on oil and gas to support itself. Dismantling its power requires us to not be a customer. This means transitioning off of fossil fuels as quickly as possible, switching to the production of renewable energy and to building alternative transportation systems.
As many of you know Cass and her family are residents of Europe. The Poland / Ukraine border is not that far from her home (10hr drive). Many friends and colleagues have picked up family members at the border already. Cass and her family have registered their home to house any displaced people and have donated to https://www.uno-fluechtlingshilfe.de/ and hernest will supply clothing as needed for refugees through friends and other local charities.
